Overview

This project turns a Gemtek W1700K Wi-Fi 7 router into a wideband software-defined receiver. Its MT7996 radio captures 14-bit complex IQ and streams it over 10 GbE to a Linux host, where the tools provide a shared IQ stream, recording, and a browser-based live spectrum and waterfall with receiver controls. The repository contains the router platform, custom radio firmware, kernel driver, and host software needed to bring up the radio and use it.

Key features

  • Capture 14-bit complex IQ at 40, 80, 160, or 320 Msps, with a 640/2 option on band 2.
  • Tune across supported 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz bands, and control gain and analog filter settings.
  • Send IQ over 10 GbE and provide a shared, gap-tagged host stream with optional roll-off correction.
  • View a live spectrum and waterfall in a browser, control the receiver, and record the stream.

Best for

Useful for people who want to explore wideband radio signals with a W1700K router and a Linux host. Choose it for live spectrum viewing, host-side IQ consumers, or stream recording.
