Overview

DroidDesk sets up a Linux desktop on an ARM64 Android phone through Termux or a standalone Android app. It provides a way to use desktop applications without a separate computer. The Termux setup uses TUR packages and can use a Proot Ubuntu, Debian, or Kali environment for other software. The standalone app uses an embedded X11 server and supports rooted and non-rooted devices. Use the phone display or connect the setup to a monitor where supported.

Key features

  • Set up XFCE4, LXQt, MATE, or KDE desktops through Termux.
  • Run desktop applications such as VS Code, LibreOffice, and Blender.
  • Use a Proot Ubuntu, Debian, or Kali environment for packages outside TUR, with installed apps synced to the desktop menu.
  • Use the standalone Android app with an embedded X11 server, in rooted or non-rooted mode.

Best for

Android users who want to run Linux desktop applications on their phone, or use it as a desktop when monitor output is available. Choose the standalone app to automate setup without a separate Termux installation.
