   Use an AI coding agent to understand the code, reproduce the bug and draft a fix. You review every line.

   Ship it

   Open a pull request upstream, or keep the fix in your fork as part of your portfolio.

   Write it up

   Explain the bug, the fix and what the AI got wrong. That story is your interview answer.
