Overview

DigUp is a desktop file-search app for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It helps find files by their contents when filenames or exact keywords are not enough. Choose folders to index, then describe what you remember in natural language; its on-device multimodal search can locate matching photos, PDFs, documents, audio, videos, and, when enabled, code. Results can open at the relevant PDF page or media moment. Exact text matching also supports identifiers such as invoice numbers and error codes.

Key features

  • Search photos, PDFs, documents, recordings, and videos by describing their contents.
  • Search across more than 100 languages, including queries in a different language from the file.
  • Open results at the relevant PDF page or audio and video moment; code search can open a result at its line.
  • Combine meaning-based search with exact matches in filenames and document text, such as invoice numbers and error codes.

Best for

Useful when you remember what a file contains but not its name, or need to search different file types from one place. Choose it when you want indexing and search to run on your computer.
