Overview
Mapbox GL Native is a C++ library that draws customizable vector maps in native applications. It applies stylesheets that follow the Mapbox Style Specification to vector tiles that follow the Mapbox Vector Tile Specification, and renders them with OpenGL or Metal. App developers usually use it through the Mapbox Maps SDKs for Android, iOS and macOS rather than directly.
Key features
- Renders vector tiles using Mapbox style specification stylesheets
- Rendering through OpenGL or Metal
- Built with CMake for Linux, Android, iOS, macOS and Windows
- Includes a GLFW example app run with an access token
Best for
Developers building or porting native map rendering in C++, or those who want the engine behind the Mapbox Maps SDKs. App developers are pointed to the platform SDKs, and Mapbox GL JS is the web counterpart.
