Overview
Sherlock is a Python command-line tool that checks whether a given username exists on more than 400 social networks. It is used in open-source intelligence work, reconnaissance and forensics to find accounts tied to one name. You run it with one or more usernames, and accounts it finds are saved to a text file named after each username. It installs with pipx, pip or uv, runs in Docker, and is packaged for several Linux distributions.
