Overview
Route Annotator is a NodeJS module with a C++ core that indexes connected node pairs from OpenStreetMap data and lets you query metadata for them. It is useful when you already have route geometry from a basemap and want the OSM tag information along it. It contains three modules: Annotator, SegmentSpeedLookup and WaySpeedLookup. The Annotator loads an OSM extract and looks up tags from node IDs or coordinates. It needs Node 4 or newer.
Key features
- Indexes connected OSM node pairs for fast lookup
- Annotator finds tags from node IDs or coordinates
- SegmentSpeedLookup and WaySpeedLookup modules
- Installs from binaries with npm or builds from source
Best for
Teams that have route geometry and need the underlying OSM tags for it. Building from source requires a C++14 capable compiler.
