Overview
mapnik-vector-tile is a Mapnik implementation of the Mapbox Vector Tile specification. It provides C++ headers for turning geodata into vector tiles and for rendering vector tiles into images. A tile is a direct serialization of Mapnik layers, designed for compact storage and fast reading. It builds with make and needs Mapnik and Protobuf.
Key features
- C++ headers to render geodata into vector tiles
- Renders vector tiles into images
- Tiles serialize Mapnik layers compactly for fast reading
- make builds fetch dependencies or use an installed Mapnik
Best for
C++ developers who work with Mapnik and need Mapbox Vector Tile support. The README notes it does not support Mapnik 3.1.x when building against an external Mapnik.
