Overview

A set of command line tools, written mostly in Perl, that compare GPS logs against an OpenStreetMap extract to find streets whose one-way tagging looks wrong. You flatten the OSM ways and your GPX files into text, match GPS points to ways, then tally how often traffic moves in each direction. The output helps OpenStreetMap contributors spot and correct tagging errors.

Key features

  • Flattens OSM XML extracts and GPX files into plain text
  • Matches GPS points to nearby OSM ways
  • Tallies how likely each street is one way
  • Outputs links to the OSM way pages for review

Best for

OpenStreetMap mappers who have GPS traces for their city and want to check one-way tags. It needs a city OSM extract and your own GPX files.
