Overview
gonc-gui is a graphical app for gonc, a tool that moves files and builds VPN tunnels directly between two devices. Both sides enter the same shared passphrase, so no account or cloud upload is needed. On one LAN the devices find each other locally; across networks it uses NAT traversal and hole punching to set up a peer-to-peer link. It runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android.
Key features
- Send files and whole folders directly between desktop and Android
- TLS 1.3 encryption with certificates derived from the passphrase
- Receive mode can browse remote files and resume interrupted downloads
- VPN mode builds an encrypted tunnel between your own devices
- No account, no cloud upload and no file size limit
Best for
People who want to move files or reach their own devices across networks without accounts or a cloud service. The project does not offer an official relay by default, so a direct connection is needed.
