Overview

myna-sign is a desktop app that signs and verifies any file or PDF using the signing certificate on a Japanese My Number Card. Files get an OpenPGP detached signature, and PDFs get an appended signature with an auto-generated signature field. It supports RFC 3161 timestamps. Before signing, it shows what you are signing and what the signature will disclose. It also has a CLI and is built with Rust and Tauri.

Key features

  • OpenPGP detached signatures for any file, plus clear-text for text
  • Appended PDF signatures with a draggable or auto-made signature field
  • RFC 3161 timestamps from FreeTSA, DigiCert or a server you choose
  • Verification lists what was checked and what was not
  • Shows remaining PIN attempts before signing

Best for

Holders of a My Number Card with a card reader who want to sign documents on their own computer. It does not check revocation, and the app always reports that step as not done.
