Overview

System Data Unpacked is a free Mac app, available in a window or in the menu bar, that shows what is inside the "System Data" line in macOS storage settings and lets you delete items one by one. That bucket often holds simulator runtimes, Xcode caches, package-manager stores, virtual machine disks, logs and per-app data. The app explains each category, shows the command before it runs, and never deletes anything you did not click. It is not a general cache cleaner. It installs through a Homebrew cask.

Key features

  • Breaks down System Data into individual items
  • Explains each category in plain terms
  • Shows the command before it runs
  • Deletes only what you click
  • Menu bar or window, installed via Homebrew cask

Best for

Developers whose Mac storage is filled by an unexplained System Data entry and who want to review and remove items carefully.
