Overview
sbtfix is a small native macOS menu-bar app for controlling Sony headphones and earbuds without a phone. Sony does not publish a Mac version of its Sound Connect app, so sbtfix talks to the headphones over Bluetooth using the same protocol as the phone app. It supports models such as WH-1000XM4, XM5 and XM6, WF-1000XM4 and XM5, and LinkBuds S. It is written in Swift, needs no network access and is released under the MIT license.
Key features
- Switch Noise Cancelling, Ambient Sound and Off in one click
- Ambient level slider, Focus on Voice and Speak-to-Chat toggles
- Battery level, with left, right and case for earbuds
- Detects the model automatically and shows only supported controls
- Reconnects by itself and stays in sync with the headphone buttons
Best for
Mac users with supported Sony headphones who want quick control from the menu bar. Available controls depend on the model, so check the compatibility table in the README.
