Overview
Blinko is an open-source note tool for capturing short ideas as cards. You host it yourself, so your notes stay on a server you control. It stores notes as plain text with Markdown support and adds AI retrieval, so you can search your notes with natural language questions. Desktop and mobile builds are made with Tauri, and the server side uses TypeScript, Next.js and Postgres.
Key features
- Natural language search over notes using AI retrieval (RAG)
- Self-hosted, so all notes stay in your own environment
- Plain text storage with full Markdown support
- Tauri apps for macOS, Windows, Android and Linux
Best for
People who want a private, self-hosted place to jot down quick thoughts and find them later by asking questions, without handing notes to a cloud service.
