Overview
Blaze is a progressive web app for sharing files between devices, similar to SHAREit or the Files app by Google, but using web technologies so no native app has to be installed. It mainly uses WebTorrent, which is peer-to-peer over WebRTC, and falls back to WebSockets. Tracker servers carry metadata but do not receive the complete file. Users pick a nickname, create or join a room on each device, and then send files, including to several devices at once.
Key features
- One-to-one and many-to-many file transfers
- WebTorrent peer-to-peer with WebSocket fallback
- No account or sign-up needed
- Works across different networks and devices
- PWA with no native app installation
Best for
People who want to quickly move files between their own devices or with others through a browser. Note that WebTorrent trackers are still used for metadata and connection setup.
