Overview
OpenSpec is a framework for spec-driven development with AI coding assistants. Instead of going straight from an idea to code, you and the assistant first agree on written specs. Slash commands such as propose, explore, apply and archive create a change folder holding a proposal, specs, a design and a task checklist, then work through the tasks and archive the result. Specs are plain Markdown with requirements and scenarios. Its stated philosophy is fluid, iterative and suitable for existing projects.
