Overview

iPhone Use is a local MCP service and Codex plugin for controlling a real iPhone over USB through WebDriverAgent. It reduces the need to repeat navigation and input steps by hand. After a signed WDA Runner is installed and started on the device, Codex can open apps, read page controls or screenshots, tap, scroll, drag, enter text, and run batches of known steps. A sidebar shows the phone screen, and screenshot-based coordinate tapping is available when control targeting fails.

Key features

  • Open apps and navigate screens, settings, search, details, or drafts.
  • Read page text, control trees, positions, and screenshots.
  • Tap controls or coordinates, scroll, drag, wait for targets, and enter Unicode text.
  • Run batches and bounded list searches with overlap, deduplication, and coverage boundaries; view the live screen.

Best for

People who want Codex to automate tasks on their own USB-connected iPhone. It suits users able to set up WDA with their own Apple signing team and Xcode.
