Overview
Gridex is a native desktop database IDE for macOS, Windows, and Linux that brings PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, Redis, MongoDB, SQL Server, and ClickHouse into one app. It gives developers a shared interface for browsing data, inspecting schemas, and working with queries across database engines. Its AI chat can inspect schemas and run read-only queries, while a built-in MCP server exposes saved connections to compatible clients with per-connection permissions and an audit log. Credentials are stored locally.
Key features
- Connect to PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, Redis, MongoDB, SQL Server, and ClickHouse; ClickHouse is currently macOS-only.
- Browse data and inspect database schemas in a native desktop app.
- Use AI chat to inspect schemas, run read-only queries, and write SQL for a selected connection.
- Expose saved connections to compatible MCP clients with permissions and an audit log.
- Store credentials locally using macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager.
Best for
Developers who work with several database engines and want one native desktop tool for browsing data and writing queries. It also suits people who want AI clients to access saved connections through permission controls.
